The Blazer, Reworked.

The Blazer, Reworked.

 Holme-next-the-sea, Norfolk.

I have always been drawn to clothes that already have a story.

There's just something special about finding a blazer with good tailoring and beautiful fabrics even when it is no longer being worn. I became fascinated by the idea of taking something that already existed and asking myself what it could become. Not just for the sake of changing it but really giving it a reason to be worn again.

Seeing the classic blazer differently.

The blazer was never really meant to be worn on the beach, at least not originally. It belonged to the world of tailoring and formal dressing. But when I wore it over a swimming costume, suddenly it seemed completely different. Standing by the sea in a piece so structured felt slightly unexpected and that's what I absolutely loved about it. The signature strap design that I add when I rework the blazers works really well to relax the traditional structure and adds a unique style detail. And it just makes it so easy to wear the blazer in many different settings - in this case,

The beach!

It's quite freeing to wear clothes in a way they weren't necessarily intended for. I believe a blazer doesn't have to belong to an office and certainly doesn't have to be saved for a particular occasion. Sometimes it can simply be thrown over swimwear, worn barefoot and taken to the beach! And somehow that feels like giving it a new identity.

Sitting by the sea in the up-cycled signature blazer, I found myself thinking less about what it was and more about what it could be. It felt like a small reminder that we don't always need something new to experience something New. Sometimes we just need to see what we already have differently.

And that's what my up-cycling journey is all about.

Just finding beautiful suits that deserve another chance and giving myself the freedom to imagine them somewhere completely different. This blazer found its way to the beach. Sometimes the best way to redefine style is to simply look at what already exists and think differently.
